Did you know that in 1330 a Scottish knight named Sir James Douglas died here fighting the Muslims? He carried the heart of King, Robert I of Scotland (Robert the Bruce). He was the eldest son of Sir William Douglas, known as «le Hardi» or «the bold», who had been the first noble supporter of William Wallace.

We offer horse riding experiences in a picturesque and biodiverse rural village, connecting us with historical facts that have happened in our environment and in that way, with imagination, feeling and living the history on horseback.
The Cortijo del Arte hotel is located in Pizarra, a town in the Valle del Guadalhorce. Originally it was an Arab «Alqueria» and from the year 1,400 became the Cortijo Casablanca with hundreds of hectares of orange, lemon, and mango trees. In 2012 it became the Hotel Cortijo del Arte respecting the essence of a traditional Andalusian farmhouse.
